Learn how to geocache during this Geocaching Clinic (taught by NorthernRobin and GeoCacheAlaska club members) in the office at Expedition Log Homes. Space is limited, preregistration is required.
We begin at 12:00 pm This time is for people very new to geocaching and people who are just curious. We'll start indoors with a DVD entitled "The Complete Guide to Geocaching. It details the finding of geocaches online, loading coordinates into GPS units, and preparing to go afield in search of the cache itself.
By 1:30 pm a team of experienced cachers will join us and we'll move outdoors with GPS units in hand to begin our journey of discovery... ending with the 'find' of actual geocaches located close nearby. Everyone will get as much personal attention as necessary to make their first geocaching expedition a success!
Our training session will be completed by 4:00 pm followed by chili over a campfire.
Participants should bring a hand-held GPS unit (a team can share), spare batteries, footwear & clothing suitable for outdoor winter activities. Geocaching is an all-weather all-season outdoor activity involving the entire family.
