This is the fourth in a set of seven caches in the “Road to the Wrekin” series.
The first 6 caches are just off the A518, which runs from Uttoxeter to Telford through Staffordshire and Shropshire.
1>The Urn
2>Any Fort In A Storm
3>Tunnel Vision
4>Broad Hill Cache*
5>Aqualate Mere
6>Crisis Point
7>Wrekin Havoc!
Can you complete all seven in a day?!
The cache itself is an ammo box on "Broadhill", a wooded area just outside of Gnosall. The following instructions assume you are coming out of Gnosall and heading West towards Newport in Shropshire.
Ok the long way with a nice walk...
> Park at N 52'46.824 / W 002'16.880
This should bring you by a public footpath on which are steps which lead you down to the dismantled railway. Walk along this westwards (out of Gnosall). Broad Hill itself will be on your left. Carry on until you reach a side path which takes you onto the Broad Hill area....
If you want to park closer to the site...
> Park at N 52'46.419 / W 002'17.843
To get there take the A518 out of Gnosall and take the second left towards a fishery (there should be some small pine trees nearby). Go up this road and over a humpback bridge. At the end there is a small carpark. This is the easy bit over...
Broad Hill
> According to my GPS the cache is at 365ft and is on the North face of the hill. You may want to go over the top of the hill or around the base of it; both of which has it's pros and cons! The ammo box itself is near the top and it's in a gap inbetween two trees close together. Lets hope your gps is quite accurate as there is some (not that dense) tree cover. Anyway, it's in a small hole and covered up with leaves on the side of the north bank.
Original contents of the cache...
> 2x Golf balls
> Blank CD
> 5x Pack of postcards
> Mini Slinky (from Ring Around the Cache)
> YoYo book
> Cat and Dog Figurine
Good luck
