The Grand Union Canal links Birmingham to London with a waterway
which is 145 miles long and contains 166 locks. This cache is one
of a series to be found along or close to the
Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire stretch of the canal.
Parking is available near to this bridge which spans the start
of the Tring Cutting. It can be quite damp and muddy down here and
because of the depth of the cutting and the trees, the GPS signal
may be a bit elusive. This cache has been
lost, replaced, found again and relocated. Read logs for more info.
Note new co-ordinates! We got an accuracy of 20 feet when
re-setting the cache, but if this points you the the middle of the
cut, don't get your scuba gear out, put your thinking head on! The
cache is a 1L tupperware container painted black. PLEASE be very
aware of the danger of muggling and be as discreet as possible when
approaching the location.
As with all these canal caches, please take care near the water,
especially if caching with kids.
