Beebe Cemetery is located on Broadway Street in the town of Polk City in Crocker Township, Polk County, Iowa. This cemetery is a pioneer burial ground for the children of George and Hester Beebe, who are coincidentally the town founders. The location is close to the family's log cabin. The cemetery dates back to 1846, the year that Iowa gained statehood and dated to 1880. The middle stone tells the ages and death dates of the Beebe children: Ozzana (1860-1874), Martha (1846-1848), Georgiana (lived for twenty days), Marice (1850-1869) and two unnamed infants, who died in 1874 and 1876, respectively. George and Hester Beebe remained in Polk City for approximately 35 years before leaving on their journey for new life Salt Lake City. The City of Polk City restored the cemetery in 2001.
