Geocache Description:

Lion's Mane is a fairly easy puzzle cache requiring very little mental exercise.

LION'S MANE

Lions are members of the Big Cat Family. They are the second biggest natural Big Cat species, with adult male Lions sporting a large tuft of hair around the head, neck and shoulders called a Mane. Lions differ from all other cat species by being extremely social.

Lions roam much of Sub-Sahara Africa. They are also found in a small group in east India. While the great majority of cats are very solitary animals, Lions live in groups, called prides. Prides are usually comprised of 1-4 males and group of 5-6 related adult females. There will also be a number of male and female cubs. With Lions, the females do most of the hunting. The lionesses will work together for the kill. Some will hide behind a herd of animals and others will attempt to drive the herd towards the hiding females. Male Lions sport a large mane of hair. The mane makes the male lion look bigger, which helps in intimidating enemies. It may also serve to protect the animals neck and head during fights with other animals.

The coordinates listed above are a mostly centralized location between all the spots you will need to visit.  You may park along the side of the road here, and walk to the different spots, or you may choose to drive.  Be aware that there are a number of elementary school located here, but you will NOT need to go on school grounds at all to complete this cache.

The cache is located at these coordinates:

4 2 º 5 ___ . ___ ___ ___ '
        A   B C D

8 5 º 3 ___ . ___ ___ ___ '
        E   F G H

Fill in the letters with clues at the three locations below.  Coordinates will put you very close the items you need to find, but, of course, you make need to look around just a bit.

Location one:  42º 56.210' x 85º 37.631'

B = The number of pavilions located here.
C = The number of blue colored seating benches.
D = The number of green colored seating benches.

Location two: 42º 55.947' x 85º 37.758'

A = The number of letters in the name of the road that runs North-South.
E = The number of letters in the name of the road that runs East-West.
H = The number of speed bumps you see in the immediate area.

Location three: 42º 55.850' x 85º 37.524'

F = The month that the fire hydrant was made.
G = The number of letters in the name of the road that runs North-South.

The final location is in a park.  The cache is a medium sized ammo box and is mildly Detroit Lions themed. I try to stock some Detroit Lions items here and appreciate others doing the same, but it is by no means exclusively Detroit Lions items.

NOTE: The cache is guarded by the veracious cache dog Marley. He likes to bark ALOT, but fortunately there is a strong metal barrier between the cache and Marley. The neighbor's know about the cache so don't worry if he barks up a storm.
