Geocache Description:

This is my first hide. I know some people like to wait until they find 100 before hiding a cache but after 55 finds I can't wait to hide my first one. I had some difficulty in hiding this cache. The first few spots I chose turned out not to work. Please leave cache like you found it.

I decided to dedicate this cache to a man who had a great influence in my life back in Saint John New Brunswick where I grew up. Bob MacVicar was one of my Scout Leaders. Bob was a firefighter, retiring at the rank of District Chief. In addition to being very active in Scouts for many years he was very active in his church and local sports, particularly for youth. He was a fantastic role model and I was fortunate to grow from calling him my Scout leader to calling him my friend. I am still active in Scouting myself to this day and hope that I can be as a positive influence on others as he was on me. In scouts we spend a lot of time hiking in the woods, camping and other outdoor activities. It was important to me to place this hide in a wooded area to remind me of our many outings in the woods. Happy hunting.
