This cache was placed for Halloween 2007, but I’ll maintain it year round. This is a night cache that should only take around a half-hour to complete. The coordinates given are for the parking area/trailhead. The trailhead is marked by 3’ telephone poles in the ground with signs on them for the Red Wing Nature Trail on Velie Road. You’ll be using the trail on the South side of the road. From the trailhead, you’ll be looking for a reflective glint trail. The glints are about ¼ inch square and work with regular and LED flashlights that should be held at head level for best results. The glint trail is fairly short and follows the regular trail with a short bushwack to the cache. When you come across a double glint, this is where you leave the trail to find the cache. Be careful while crossing the small bridge that you don't awaken the troll that lives there. When you leave the trail, you should be able to see the next glint from the previous. They are closer together here. You should know when you're at the last one as you'll be caught red handed. You’re looking for a cammo’d 50cal. ammo can on the ground by the last glint. There is no glint trail on the way out, so be sure to use your track on your GPS. Looking at the last glint, the trail is a very short distance directly in front of you. The trail is well maintained, just keep a light on the trail as there are some roots sticking out of the ground that can trip you up. There are a couple of houses near the trail, so respect their privacy and be sure to come and go quietly. Thanks and enjoy the night!
