Just west of the cache site, the Zinfandel Lane Bridge was constructed in 1913 to make crossing the river upvalley easier. The spot soon became a summertime hangout spot for local teens and a nice spot for familes to cool off during the heat of the summer. By the middle of the summer though, the river usually dried up to little more than a trickle and the swimming done earlier in the year turned into wading or less. In the 1930's, a young girl dove headfirst into the river from the southern side of the bridge. In the low water level of late summer, the young girl struck her head on the rocks at the bottom of the river and died instantly.

During the early evening hours, a spirit appearing to be that of a young girl has been seen moving along the bridge's south rail.

Congrats to St.Helena Cachers for first to find !
