On the shores of beautiful Ely Lake, the Minnesota Geocaching Association is having it's first official campout event at Veteran's Lake Park Campground in Eveleth, MN on September 18-19 (Sat & Sun).

At Eveleth Veteran’s Lake Park you will find the perfect vacation spot with campground accommodations for both tent and RV camping. In the summer enjoy a day in the sun with the kids at our sandy beach with a lifeguard on duty. Campground amenities include: picnic grills, fire pits, hiking trails, horse shoes, bike trails, fishing, sandy beach, volleyball, swing set, picnic shelters, soda machine and floating raft. A 24 hour manager is on site from May through September. For questions or more information on campsites please contact our Lake Park managers at (218) 744-2360.
Arrive sometime early Saturday and enjoy a day of caching, grilling, fishing, or any number of things.
Space is somewhat limited so reserve your space now. The costs of reservations are $10 per tent for a site without electricity, and $13 per tent for a site with electricity. Contact the extremely helpful and friendly Lois at (218) 744-2360 to make these reservations. She will give you the PO Box to send any fees to.
Bring your canoes and kayaks. There's rumor of a kayak/canoe only temporary cache to be placed before the event! Bass fishing is also rumored to be especially good . There is a grocery store 5 miles down the road in Eveleth for any last minute supplies and a full-sized convenience store close to the park entrance. Firewood will be for sale at the campground if you don't bring your own.
