Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Well, I wanted to get more ammo can caches out there for all of us to find. So, I posed a challenge and one local cacher prevailed. The challenge: Who can hide and publish the MOST ammo can caches in the month of April?

If you can hide (and have published) more ammo can caches (during the month of April) than me, I will "award" you $40.00 in Gasoline!

*Begin small text disclaimer stuff here* Award will be given only to the one who hides the MOST. Total ammo can hides must exceed my total ammo can hides. Hides must be hidden within the greater Reno / Sparks / Virginia City / Carson / Dayton area. This challenge is meant for recreational purposes only. May be too intense for some cachers. Contains a substantial amount of swag. Not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential injuries resulting from any hike or drive into the hills. Avoid too much time indoors. Be sure each item is properly hidden and follows all geocaching rules. Cachers and their families are all eligible. You must be hiding ammo cans to win. Keep away from urban or high-muggle areas. Decision of judge is final. *End small text disclaimer stuff here*

CONGRATULATIONS go out to Abe!!

Final Score: Abe - 19 Nick - 15

Note: The coords for this cache were given to Abe prior to publishing so he could retrieve his prize.

Also, be sure to find the 'Is anybody out there?' cache, located on your way UP the hill. And, because this hill is VERY sandy, the journey down can be pretty FUN! Enjoy!

Out for a nice little hike with a Raider & Sweetie. Boy am I out of shape, as Dave left me in the dust on the way up up up to this cache. I was determined to make it without dying. Hooray! I made it. Definitely want to get more caches on this side of the chart. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache & the exercise Nick! Great views and burning feelings in my legs as I write this log....

Tom of the Clowns Fly @3 and I took a brief excursion into the hills on this wonderfully warm, sunny first day of November. We parked down below near the 'Is Anybody Out There' cache and made our way up to the top of the hill for this one. There was quite the array of beautiful crystals laying about and banded through the boulders in this area. The views from the top were great and afforded a complete 360 degree vantage point. THANX Nick!

There's supposed to be bad weather rolling in this weekend, so we wanted to get out Saturday before things got bad. By the time we made it to this cache site, it was already past noon. The sun was still shining brightly and the temperature was in the low 60's, but the winds had definitely started to pick up. As a matter of fact, it was howling so badly that when we parked the Jeep, we left our hats inside the vehicle. The conditions were just too dangerous for the hats outside. Luckily, we made quick work finding the cache as the coordinates were right on for us. Then I had to pull out my hand-held wind gauge to see just how windy it actually was. I still think it was gusting in the 50's and I did get readings in the upper 40's. I also took some pictures but the hardest gusts I was able to capture with the camera was 44mph. Anyway, the challenge of getting up here and playing in the wind made for a fun day.

Thanks for the hide, adventure, and views,

Team Bernsports (#685)
