Geocache Description:

The trail to this cache will lead you to an idyllic spot on Lynx Creek, especially so if the creek is flowing. The cache will be in the vicinity of this spot. It’s a great place for a picnic lunch or snack.

From downtown Prescott, drive east on Hwy. 69 for 4.4 miles to the traffic signal at Walker Rd. (just before reaching the Costco Warehouse). Turn right (south) and drive south for 2.1 miles to the large sign on the left that marks the future site of the Highlands Center for Natural History. Continue past this sign for just a short ways to a green Forest Service gate. Park here.

After parking, walk down the wide gravel road to a junction with a trail coming from the north. This latter trail is Trail #305, which goes north to the Lynx Creek Ruin, and south to Lynx Lake and beyond. Continue straight past this junction and follow this easy wide trail to Lynx Creek, a total distance of 0.4 miles. A rocky bluff overlooks the creek just before reaching it. It’s an easy scramble down to the creek where you will find two creekside benches.

Here are some critical coordinates to keep you from straying too far.
