Geocache Description:

This event is being at Pleasent Creek state rec area. The CITO will offically begin at 9am, followed by a potluck at the North Shelter. Please check back for updates as the details are fleshed out.

CITO 9am - 11 am
Meet at the shelter (coordinate given at the top of the page) to receive bags and divide into groups. There will be a few pointy sticks available, but if your own personal clean up gear please bring it, bug spray and sunblock would also be good. The groundcover will be full grown, so we'll stick mostly to mowed and open areas (like the trails and lake shoreline). You can CITO longer if you like, but if a clear day that will get hot (I'll be at the shelter about 8 setting up if anyone wants to get started early).
If you have an FRS radio set to ch. 12, bring it along so we can all communicate. Potluck 11am-?
It's bring-you-own-beverages and meat. We'll supply some hot grills and cold coolers on Saturday morning as well as paper plates, napkins, eating utensils, paper cups, etc. The shelter has no lighting or electrical outlets. There is a water hydrant/drinking fountain, and 8 picnic tables. Bring a dish to share Saturday per the following guide:
  • * Last name A-H: Chips, pretzels, and/or snacks
  • * Last name I-Q: Salad, fruit, and/or vegetables
  • * Last name R-Z: Dessert
After the potluck we'll raffle off a couple geocache boxes (everyone that attends the CITO gets a ticket) Everything else ?- ?
There should be two or three caches inside the park in time for the event. As well as whatever caches are outside the park.
The park also has a swimming beach (fee: $3), playground, boat rental($18/hr.)/baitshop/boat ramps, fishing jetties, campground, and of course hiking and multiuse (horse/bicycle) trails.
