Marblehead Quarry Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

arteitle: I have removed this cache. Remarkably, it was still there after several years of inactivity, but it was full of water and other more disgusting substances. The land it was on is technically belongs to Lafarge and is part of the quarry, hence the signs, but it has never been used for anything (except by the locals for fishing and as a makeshift garbage dump).

Geocache Description:

On Marblehead peninsula in Ohio, in the middle of Lake Erie.

The cache (my first!) is a clear Rubbermaid-style container with a green lid, hidden near a public park on the edge of Lafarge's Marblehead limestone quarry. On your way there, look out across the water for Cedar Point and the Perry Peace Memorial, and make a stop at the Marblehead Lighthouse, oldest operating light on the Great Lakes. The cache container is fairly small and full of neat items, so don't bring anything too large to try to hide inside. While you're there, photograph yourself with the cache's Polaroid PopShots disposable instant camera, and add it to the cache before you go! (Note: the camera probably won't work at temperatures below freezing.)
