This is the first cache I have ever made. It is a multi-cache and involves 4 steps in 3 different locations. Each location is within 1-2 miles of the original location. I suggest that you bring with a calculater. This cache should be able to be completed in an hour.
Step 1 - Go to the coordinates given. It is in a park just north of Route 30. At this location you will find something that tells you the amount of money you will be fined if you deface this property. Take the three digit number 0.xxx and subtract it from N 41'31.770 and W 087'42.424 to get coordinates for the next location.
example.... if the number was $200 --> it would be 41'31.770 - .200 and 087'42.424 - .200 and the coordinates would be N 41'31.570 and W 087'42.224.
Step 2 - Once you arrive at this location, get out of your car and go about 120 yards heading approximately 275 degrees. Count the number of colonies represented at this location and add the number 0.0xx to 41'30.714 and 087'40.482 to get your next coordinates.
example- for 25 colonies add .025.
Step 3 - At this location take the year this thing was dedicated x.xxx and add it to N 41'28.691 and W 087'38.578 to get the final nearby location.
example- for the year 1887 you would add 41'28.691 + 1.887 and 087'38.572 + 1.887 for the coordinates N 41'30.578 and W 087'40.465.
Step 4 - Use the final coordinates to find the cache. Be careful that no one sees you get it because it is not far from plain sight. Please try to hide it just as well as it was hidden the first time. It is hidden very well you almost have to be right next to it to see it. Be careful of thorn bushes in the brush.
