Geocache Description:

Relatively easy cache with +- 800m walk on beach.

This cache is not so much about the actual cache location but more about the cache area and surrounds. That’s also why we do not want to tell you exactly how to find all the roads. You will discover more this way.

The cache is situated half way between Tietiesbaai and Paternoster.

The small town of Paternoster has to be one of South Africa's most charming fishing towns. The town apparently got its name in 1829 when the ship "Columbine" sank here. So happy were the survivors that they thanked the Lord by saying the "Our Father"(Paternoster).

Tietiesbaai is a beautiful, natural, camping area situated in the Columbine Nature Reserve. It’s also the location of the Columbine Lighthouse. If you take a drive all the way to farthest point in the reserve and look back towards the Columbine Lighthouse, you will see where the name 'tieties'(breast in Afrikaans) 'baai'(Bay) comes from.

To get to the cache you have to find the road to Tietiesbaai from Paternoster. It's a well maintained gravel road which can be driven with any vehicle. At S32 48.884 E17 52.616 you can turn right into a parking area and walk from there.

The cache is hidden in a purple 1.5l container.
