Hej Team Bua!

Geocache Description:

“The One” is a traditional cache in the wonderful surroundings at Kåsjön/ Öjersjö. You can take it by other hiking or by kayak from the lake. Don’t forget to bring picnic since there is a perfect spot just down by the lakeside. There are easy paths to follow, but it can be rather wet in spring and autumn so bring good footwear. There is also possible to take a swim some 100 meters east of the cache at a nice bath cliff.

The One is our Team's first hidden cache, but the name is also referring to a strange and joyful experience me and my family had on the location just a few metres south of the cache.

Doctors discovered some kind of tumour on my father some years ago. The day came when he when they by surgery removed the tumour. He was able to leave the hospital the same day but the answer how serious the tumour was should come the next day. My father was very anxious and asked if he could stay at our place over night. I myself was very nervous and turned to heavens with prayers for my father’s future wellbeing.

To make my father happy that night my family decided to go out in the woods and try to find the yellow mushrooms (kantareller) for sandwiches which is my fathers favourite food. We walked and walked and didn't find more than one tiny piece. We were just about to give up some 40 meters from the lake. We stopped and took out some biscuits and lemonade for the kids. I felt a bit sad not to get any kantareller. Then I just said, let us take the picnic down by the water…. We moved some meters and when we sat down, yellow mushrooms were every where. 3 kg was the harvest and my father was offered as many sandwiched he wanted. For me this was one of the strongest moments in my life. The vegetation at the place is a big no-no for mushrooms as you will see if you are a kantarelhunter. I felt so strongly when I sat there collecting the mushroom that this was not a coincidence. Someone was smiling from above….The One.

The next day came the answer from the hospital: They dissected the tumour but it turned out to be….something else….the doctors had never seen anything like it before they said. But it was definitely no dangerous. I myself a real experience and I’m much stronger today in my belief that life is not based on coincidences. Someone wants us well. We returned the next autumn and the autumn after that to harvest again. Can you guess how many we found….Zero. So don’t expect to much. :-)
