Geocache Description:

CITO

WHEN: APRIL 18, 2009

TIME: 0900

CBEC

http://bayrestoration.org/index.html

Last year Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center & the MAGC became friends. Through this friendship CBEC not only allowed but encouraged MAGC to introduce caching to this fantastic environmental area. There are 8 caches nestled in the habitats here as well as 2 Earth Caches. It also gave us the chance to experience some close encounters with the wildlife here & to enjoy nature as well as learn about the many projects that go on here daily to help improve the Chesapeake Bay.

To show our appreciation we have the chance to give back to both the environment & to our new friends at CBEC by helping them do some trail maintenance.

The following week celebrates EARTH DAY & we will be reaching out to the community as well to join us in our work & play.
It looks like we will be joined by some of our local Boy Scouts, members of the Demolay & Masons as well as our MGS & NoVAGO friends. We also welcome anyone else that would like to join us.

Currently there are 8 caches, 2 Earth Caches & 10 benchmarks @ CBEC. We will be adding 4-6 new caches & possibly a hydro cache. CAM will also be in full swing so being on the Eastern Shore will also give folks the chance to grab a CAM cache or 2 as well.

CBEC will supply some of the equipment but we are asked to bring whatever we can to help. Anything from gloves to chain saws, rakes, axes & your bug spray will be great. BE SURE TO MARK YOUR ITEMS.

There is NO CHARGE to enter the park for this event.

CHOW

This will be a work day so appetites will be huge. We will have the use of the big pavilion & the BBQ's but the rest will be pot luck so bring along your favorite treat to share.

Also we ask that each person brings a piece of swag. It will go into a big cache that will be a memorial/token cache for this event & will be placed soon after the CITO some where on the grounds.

So don't put away those tools to far in the garage & shed. Come on out & work up an appetite, enjoy the food, the area & the fun you will all have.

NOTE: Rain date will be next sat, April 25, 2009.

BONUS: Everyone that attends will also recieve a free day pass, good through October 31st, to come back to CBEC & roam the trails or use a kayak for some water exploration.
