Original Cache Description with minor edits.
The cache itself was an old 3 1/2 inch floppy disk box painted
sort of camo colors, it was under the southish side of a somewhat
lonely Chamise (Adenostoma fasciculatum) plant, although there are
many others nearby. The dead lower branches make good cover.
I rated this a 2 for difficulty primarily because of the
terrain. You can park within a few hundred yards of the cache, once
you pick/find the trail, it is steep in places and covered with
loose, gravel (and thanks to miscreant, presumably underage
drinkers, glass), climbing gear isn't needed; although, open toed
shoes are probably not a good idea. Strollers, bikes, little kids
and people not fairly steady on their feet may not be good to bring
to this cache either.
On a clear day you can easily see from Monterey to Santa Cruz,
on a clear night with a telescope you can see for a few thousand
light years; although hiking to a good view point with a telescope
is much easier on the other side of the road.

Today I replaced and relocated this cache. I had offered to
adopt and accepted the adoption from Mr. Ranger after reading that
the cache had been muggled. To my surprise I found the muggled
cache container and the ziploc baggie of trade items. I took the
old cache container and I left a larger black-painted tea tin
container in its place (which should not have the water problems
the old cache container had), and I relocated the hide about 20
feet east to a spot more hidden by the brush nearby. I also piled
light brown stone about the container for more appropriate
camoflage as well.
Another pleasant surprise was that the drive wasn't that bad along
Summit Road to the cache. Park at the nearby benchmark disk (HS5215
- E 1457) to the southeast, and then do a very short scramble up to
the "trail" and head over for the views!
Enjoy! And happy caching!
