Geocache Description:

This event will be held at an undisclosed location in Massachusetts. The coordinates above are BOGUS. Do not go to them, they will not take you anywhere near this event. The event will take place within 10 miles from the posted coordinates.

Fast Facts for the number 377:

This Fezziwig was born on 3 / 29 / 1977, hence the "377".

Prime Factors of 377=13x29

377 is a Fibonacci Number

Arcadius was born in Spain around AD 377, the son of Theodosius the Great and Aelia Flavia Flaccilla.
- His father raised him to the rank of co-Augustus of the east in AD 383, though due to his young age it was a solely ceremonial title at first.
- But when in AD 395 Theodosius died, Arcadius succeeded him as emperor of the east at the age of eighteen. Meanwhile his brother Honorius became emperor of the west. This division of the empire into eastern and western parts was the decisive one, which sent the two on separate ways. Had the empire effectively been split by Valentinian, it had still functioned as a unit. One of the two emperors had always enjoyed seniority over the other. However, the accession of Arcadius and Honorius is widely seen as the division of the Roman empire into two completely separate parts.
- Arcadius is therefore often quoted as the first 'Byzantine' ruler.

The 377th digit of pi is 6. The string 377 occurs at position 3,056 counting from the first digit after the decimal point.

The Ironworkers Union is Local 377
- Local 377 was chartered in 1921 as a mixed local. They currently represent almost 3000 men and women engaged in the ironworking industry in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and North Coast. Their goals are to organize their industry to raise the standard of living of all ironworkers, to foster and promote a safe jobsite work environment through safety training and programs, and to provide important information regarding political issues to better allow their members to make an informed choice.

Saint Valerian (Born A.D. 377) was bishop of Abbenza in North Africa. He was martyred in 457 when he refused to surrender the sacred vessels of his church to the Vandals led by Arian King Genseric. Valerian was driven out of the city and left to die of exposure. Saint Valerian's festival day is December 15.

Gu Kaizhi (c.344-406), is a celebrated painter of ancient China. According to historical records he was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu province and first painted at Nanjing in 364. In 366 he became an officer. Later he was promoted royal officer. He was also a talented poet and calligrapher. He wrote three books about painting theory: "On Painting", "Introduction of Famous Paintings of Wei and Jin Dynasties" and "Painting Yuntai Mountain". He wrote: "In figure paintings the clothes and the appearances were not very important. The eyes were the spirit and the decisive factor." In 377, Gu Kaizhi painted his work, The Goddess of the Lo River.

So here's the deal...

I get one shot to celebrate my 377th cache, thus I am making it this event (although many of you refer to me as "Fezz", my full user name IS Fezziwig377, hence the big deal with the 377).

Anyone can and is invited to TRY and attend, provided they EARN the invitation. To gain the "inivitation" (AKA the coordinates/place and time of the event) you must earn 125 points doing my caches! (POINTS?!?!... Scroll Down, you'll see...)

I hope to see many of my friends, as well as some new folks, at this event.

AMBIGUOUS EVENT INFO:

- The event will be held on SATURDAY, AUGUST 5th, 2006.
- It will be held at a restaurant.
- I am not paying for you. Please bring your cash (<--- notice the spelling) so you can eat. There is a bar, the food is good, and the place is fairly nice.
- Please do not post a WILL ATTEND until you have the necessary point value and know where it is. Feel free to post NOTES at any time.
- Event time will most likely be held in the evening, dinner time perhaps?? Specifics will be made available upon the accumulation of 125 points.
- CUT OFF DATE / DEADLINE FOR POINTS will be AUGUST 2nd, 2006 at MIDNIGHT! All logs must be made by then, with pics posted with them.

OFFICIAL RULES: (CHANGES MADE 6/6/06)
1. Fezziwig377 (Me) will serve as point totaler and referee if there needs to be one. His say is final on points and other decisions needing to be made.

2. All of my caches are listed below (Any cache I own, have adopted, or helped to hide is listed). Each of them has a point value next to it. Find the cache, post your log on GC.com with required pic (See Rule #4), earn your points. It's that simple... This cache was approved on June 2, 2006. Only caches found on or after June 1, 2006 will count.

3. If you have already done some of my caches prior to June 1, 2006, they WILL count in your point total. However, caches found before June 1, 2006 will only award you HALF of the point value for that cache.

4. You MUST post your PIC, with LOGBOOK IN HAND at the final cache location, in your log on GC.com to get the points for that cache. (Clarification - Pics are NOT needed for caches found prior to June 1, 2006) (Try your best not make it a spoiler...)
NO PIC = NO POINTS...

5. You may cache in a group, but there must be a pic in YOUR log to gain the points. Group pics are welcome.

6. Event DATE is posted on this page. Once you have totaled 125 points, I will e-mail you (thru GC.com and your profile) the official coordinates and other necessary information.

7. If you are reading this on GC.com and are NOT a Volunteer Reviewer (I.E. gpsfun or MadMin), then obviously this is an approved caching event.

8. Yes, there may be more caches added between now and the event.

9. Have a question?? Maybe someone else has the same one, so post it as a note on the cache page and I will take care of it.

10. Be Safe and Have Fun!!!!!
