Geocache Description:

The Location

The cache is precisely 36.488 miles from the listed coordinates and west of Route 3.

Helpful Instructions and Warnings

Do not visit the listed coordinates at night.

North and west of the cache you'll find a wide dirt trail that leads North-South. On either side of the trail lies private property. When it is time to bushwhack, and you'll know when it is or you will not have been able to solve the puzzle, you'll find public land to the east.

The cache is near an old stone wall. You do not need to move any stones to find the cache so please don't. Don't lift a stone and put it back, really, you don't need to. North of the wall is private property. Do not cross the stone wall to the north. There is limited parking at the trailhead. In particular you should not block the trailhead especially during winter.

The cache is a full-size ammo can, not one of the wimpy half-size ones...

FTFP prize is a BackBrakeBilly puzzle geocoin. I will transfer ownership to the first finder.

Math

There is some pretty hairy math involved in computing distances between 2 points, but don't worry, this web site handles all that for you.

However, once in the field, double check your assumptions! Small errors can rapidly multiply in certain situations and this is one of those situations. Trust the land, not your GPS and maps.

On the other hand, if all that scares you, don't worry. Near the cache you'll find an object that will confirm you are where you wanted to be. Yeah, even better than looking at your GPS. Then just turn the geosense past 11 and you'll find it.
