Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache takes you on the campus of the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA. The University was founded in 1851 in Santa Clara, CA, moving to Stockton in 1924. Difficulty raised to 1.5 due to frequent presence of muggles.
Permission was granted to place geocaches on the campus of the University of the Pacific. It is a beautiful campus. As always, please be respectful of the grounds. The cache is easy access, no need to leave the sidewalk.
Visitor parking can be found in front of Burns Tower, a hard to miss landmark on campus just off of Pacific Avenue. If you are caching on a weekday, 8-5, stop in Burns Tower for a visitor parking pass. If you visit after 5 or on weekends, you can park anywhere on campus without a permit, except for designated handicapped parking spots.
If you are around 'on the hour', listen for the carillons that chime from the Tower.
Wander around, enjoy the roses (don't pick any – it is a steep fine). The campus has been used in many movies over the years, with its ivy covered brick buildings making it look like a campus from out east. From the cache location you can see the building used as the administration building for 'Medfield College' in “Flubber”.
Workers in the lobby of Burns Tower (Information area) are aware of the cache.
PLEASE replace the cache exactly where you found it; it has a tendency to wander to similar hiding places nearby, which make its (even more) frustrating for the next geocacher to locate!
