Geocache Description:

This is a family oriented cache to locate, very easy walking, flat, level terrain.

Farm by the Lake Nature Center

The geocache is an old green ammo box. Original contents include logbook, disposable camera, “Oops See Daisy” dispenser, golf balls, and many other misc. items.

This is not a very well known place. Please drive into driveway marked by a mailbox “Farm by the Lake” and you will see two open areas to your left and right that can be used for parking, or drive all the way up the driveway and there is a small parking area there. Please enjoy yourself here, have a picnic, bird watch, walk the trails, watch the ducks or beaver on the lake or enjoy the beautiful gardens but please be respectful of the tranquility and peacefulness of the area. You will find two trails that head west from the western most parking area this is a good place to start!

Please Note: Farm By the Lake is a 100 acre retreat center and nature area given to the community by author Richard C. Davids. Within that 100 acres are many different ecosystems including: ponds, natural springs, lake shore, tamarack bog, mixed hardwood forest, red pine plantation, natural grasslands gardens of exotic flowers, and many more. A mile and a half of year round trails encourage exploration by school groups, community groups, or individuals. Farm by the Lake is located a half hour west of Bemidji and only 30 minutes from Itasca State Park.
