Cache #6 of 38 today!

Today I braved the dusting of snow and frigid temperatures to go geocaching in Bowling Green, KY. While it was a very cold day, I dressed for the occasion with layers and a constantly running heater in the truck. This is the second time I have cached in Bowling Green...the first time was when I spent the day finding 101 caches, breaking my record of finds in a day. Today was spent approaching the city from Franklin on Hwy. 31W, and picking up the caches along the way. I especially enjoyed driving the back-country roads of Warren and Simpson Counties today.

The ultimate goal of the day was attending "Mixing It Up At The Cave" geocaching event at the Lost River Cave. We had a great turn-out, and even got a newspaper reporter to stop by and learn all about geocaching. Look for an article in the Bowling Green Daily Times very soon. Hiking the trails at the cave was very fun, but very brutal with the cold, sharp wind on our backs the whole time.

Overall, today was a very successful day. I found several caches that I previously DNF'ed on the last trip to Bowling Green. Unfortunately, I did not have a single DNF today until the LAST cache I looked for at the end of the day. What a horrible way to call it quits!

Even though I have found well over 150 caches in Bowling Green.....many more are still out there for me to find. I will definitely schedule another cache run in the future. Thanks to all the cache owners for contributing to this crazy treasure hunt. Always a blast!

I initially approached from the wrong side of the fence. When I saw the cache, I thought I could reach over and make the grab. Unfortunately, the lid opened...spilling all its contents on the ground. So then I HAD to walk all the way around and get on the right side of the fence to pick everything up and sign the log. Oh well...I wasn't in a hurry anyway. Great location.

I was in the area for my son's soccer tournament. I picked this one during my afternoon between soccer games cache run.

I love finding old caches like this one that are still in great shape.

Now this Pushing Up Daisies cache does not have a number following it. Does that mean this one was the very first of the series?

I liked it.

Thanks!
Now it is time to head back to the soccer fields.

This is one I kept driving a ways from and would decide I would get it later. My husband wanted me to go for a ride with him on the motorcycle, so I decided it would be nice to drive around by way of this cache so that I could finally find it. All was good with the cache. We enjoyed our ride and the find. TFTC!!
