Geocache Description:

The MGS Elizabeth

[The MGS Elizabeth returning from the very first Pirate of the Potomac gathering]

A trusty vessel,
Ms. Elizabeth carried Pirates to and fro.
Up river, down river,
her captain, XJ, navigated her like a pro.

Along the Potomac she often sailed,
puttering along propelled by her motor.
(Although yes, there was that one trip,
when she lost a pin and had a bit of trouble with her rotor…)

Where is she now?
Well, like her captain, she's at rest on the land.
but the Pirates who've sailed with her,
remember the journeys they've taken…which have been grand!

When Potomac Pirates hoist the Jolly Roger,
and prepare to set foot on distant sands,
we'll always remember the past adventures,
that included the best pirate ship in all the land!

Yea, the ode is pretty badly written….but the primary intent to get the MGS Elizabeth to Van Deventer Island at least in a roundabout way has hopefully been accomplished. This cache honors the boat that helped many a Pirate make it to the first council of the Pirates of the Potomac. The cache you seek is small in size, although it is attached to a slightly larger object. Do please be gentle with this one; some parts are a bit delicate. Otherwise, good luck and enjoy!
