This is a three stage multi-cache based loosely on the movie
Forrest Gump. The first stage will take you to Forrest's youth as
he and Jenny stuck together like peas an carrots. -!-!-!- [UPDATE -
According to Bobby MD, "the large kanji symbols mean (full of
energy), the smaller letters [underneath] is the artist’s
name. On the back of the statue it has a list of companies that
donated the funds for the statue along with the date it was built.
March 1987."] -!-!-!- Its nice to know, now, that I wasn't treading
on something of sacred significance when I put this cache here...
I'll give kudos also to whomever can tell me what shrine/monument
is on the other side of the bushes from the kid statue. I'm dying
to know.
The second stage brings you to the Bubba-Gump portion of
Forrest's life and is a wonderful fish-market in the Awase area.
Make sure to come back for a baseball game or the foot massaging
trail just beside the field.
The third stage brings us to the “running” Forrest
when he ran from east coast to west and back again. This portion
contains the final cache which holds the log, a pen, and just
enough room for a coin or two. First to find on this cache will
also discover “his and hers” crocheted “Peas and
Carrots” keychains in the spirit of the cache. (These were
created and donated by “Muggle Mom” for this
occasion.)
Each of the three stages have some very nice restaurants nearby
of varying price should you get the caching munchies, or pick up
some fish back at the second stage to cook later on. While you are
in the area, there are a few other caches to knock off your list if
you haven't already.
This is the first cache placed by The Muggle Family. Feedback is
appreciated. All stages of this multicache are hand made and (we
think) 'cleverly' hidden. The terrain permits open access to the
skies so coords should be dead on, barring any cloud cover, and all
but the last stage can be driven right up to without more than a
few pace's walk. (I'd recommend parking and hoofing the individual
stages though. You can drive from stage to stage.) Should you
desire to walk it, I do so with the Muggle Dog every once in a
while as a loop. It's not that bad. No strollers on the last stage,
and as always, watch out for muggles.
Please use care to place each stage of this cache in the same
condition and orientation in which you found it. Get too sloppy,
and the gig is up.
Congratulations to Bobby MD for the FTF!!! (Tide was up when I
checked on it, I hope you didn't get as wet getting there as I
did.)
Let me know how you (dis)liked the cache.
