This property has had many faces. Once a Saturday night dancehall, General Store and a WWII Barracks and now one of the most famous restaurants in the area. The cache is being placed here on the mark of another historical milestone, the 15th anniversary of the popular eatery.
The first homestead was built in 1885 by Charles Gray and is marked as the oldest village in these parts. In 1890 Gray along with some neighbors planned out the streets and blocks. They named their new village after Gray.
At the turn of the century, Grayton Beach became a retreat for some inland families. It was the Butler Family who came here from Defuniak Springs and later made it their home.
