Canyon Island Traditional Geocache

Canyon Island is on the Taku River,  it has about 8 privately owned recreational cabins on it.

 In the 50'S it had a PAN AM radio station on it to help planes find Juneau and Whitehorse, A few years back it had a 9 hole Golf coarse with a airstrip. But nature has taken back what was hers.

Now it's just a nice place to try your hand at fishing in Fish Creek. Be care of bears fishing also.

This is a small Camo. Bison tube with only enough room for a log.

Accessing this cache is best from the back side of the island, be careful not to walk on the island proper, it's all private property. 

Lots of room to walk without disturbing the island folks. Bring fishing poles.
