Heretofore it's been largely overlooked by the geocaching
community, with only one lonely cache at the far end of the single
trail. While out in search of an Xmas tree and some trimmings, we
decided to stop and alleviate the situation: The park entrance from
La Honda Road (84), which is a bit obscure, is now marked.
This is not quite a driveup, but close. There is adequate room
to pull off even if the gate is closed (though as of now, it's been
removed). Easiest access from the downhill direction. If you are
turning left into the entrance from the uphill lane, please be
careful: Locals familiar with the road don't seem to worry too much
about the posted speed limit.
As of 7/27/08, the cache is now a large pill bottle. It's
nominally inside the park, but easily accessible anyway. Don't try
to make it into a hard hide - it's not. We had a 30' EPE on the new
coords, so widen out the search if you have problems.
