Not far from the Mungaranie Pub on the Birdsville Track
The pub is famous for its collection of hats, and one of the finest camping areas on the Birdsville. Unless the weather turns wet, the track is no longer the challenge it was 30 years ago - a 4WD is nice, but not essential. I wouldnt like to do it in Summer though.
While you are there, the bore fed pool is a must, especially at dawn and/or dusk, and the birdlife in the wetlands are amazing. If you have the time, a trip out to Cowarie Station for the night is worth doing, if only to appreciate real isolation - ask at the pub for directions.
The cache is an easy walk from the camping area.
