Geocache Description:

This micro cache is situated on the top of the Skogarfoss just beside the hiking path up to Fimmfördurháls.

There is an old saga about the hidden treasure in the waterfall. Prasi has hidden his gold more than 1000 years ago behind the waterfall. The gold was never found only the ring from the treasure chest, which is now in the museum close to the waterfall. So when you approach the waterfall you still can see the gold :-) The cache is close to the hiking trail to Fimmvörðuháls just on the top of the waterfall a few meters after crossing the fence. This geocache is also within the boundaries of Katla Geopark Project. www.katlageopark.is
