Are you ready for the desert riding season to begin? If you are, be sure to join us for a jaw-dropping night-ride through Ocotillo Wells SVRA as we go in search of scorpions, ant lions, spiders, and other creatures of the night. During our three-hour 4x4 safari, we will make our way to some secret spots teaming with critters of the night. As we explore these hidden gems, we will use black lights to track down scorpions and our bug magnet to lure-in our nighttime flying friends. And who knows; we may even encounter some of the park’s legless residents as well. Come prepared with a high-clearance 4WD vehicle, a full-tank of gas, water, snacks, and most importantly, your sense of adventure. This family friendly event is sure to open-your-eyes to some of the more fascinating creatures that call OW home.
Meet us at 5pm at the OWSVRA Discovery Center located at 5172 Highway 78 for a free BBQ dinner provided by the Friends of Ocotillo Wells, followed by a short talk from the Bugman before we head out on our adventure! This fun-filled off-highway adventure commemorating California State Park’s 150th Anniversary will be a night you won’t soon forget!
