This cache is a 50 calibre ammo can. It is located near the summit
of the mountain which overlooks Allstones Lake. We initially wanted
to put a cache at Allstones Lake but noted that there was already a
cache there. On the return hike from the lake we decided to go to
the summit. This meant ditching our packs and scrambling up a lot
of loose shale. We wanted to put the cache right at the summit
however our nerves got the best of us. The wind, height and the
rock conditions more or less determined the final resting place for
the cache.
This cache is not for the faint of heart. It requires a substantial
hike and some rock scrambling. For those that do attempt the trek,
caution is certainly the order of the day.
I hope you enjoy finding the cache as much as we did hiding it! By
the way, there is a FTF incentive in the cache.
By pure luck the elevation was exactly 2000
meters.
A look at the cache location from the trail up.
