This will be the second in a series of monthly meet & greets for the quad cities area (and beyond). My plan is to rotate the location among the four cities each month. This month we'll meet in Lewiston.
Caching activity tends to slow down in the winter, but it doesn't have to. The snow does not have to get in our way. Unfortunately, many caches are placed on the ground under objects that get buried after a snowstorm, making the cache inaccessible in winter. If you choose to place caches for this event, please hide winter-friendly geocaches within the four counties and ask that the reviewer enable the listing at 8:00 pm on Friday, February 6. "Winter-friendly" is a broad definition, so you can be creative with your hides. But the idea is to place caches in ways that people can still find them even with two feet of snow on the ground. There's no reason we can't get out and enjoy geocaching in the winter!
Of course, the main purpose of this event is to get together with other cachers in the region and socialize. Location: Southway Pizza
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Name your hides beginning with "FTF February: "
