Geocache Description:

Hidden in Staten Island's High Rock Park, part of NYC's Greenbelt
system, this cache is named for the blue herons that call the
park's wetlands home. Simply park in the lot at the foot of Nevada
Ave and enter the yellow trail at the coordinates provided and
follow to GZ. You'll have to bushwhack a bit to get to the cache,
an ammo can with some pretty decent swag in it. There's
something for the FTF, but I you want something else, I'd ask that
you just leave it for the next finder (thanks!) This cache also
honors the sacrifice of Sergeant Bryan Large, US Army, who was
killed in combat operations 3 OCT 1995, who's Fallen Heroes
geocoin is making its initial run in this cache. Take a moment to
remember SGT Large and those who have gone on before him.

Don't be in such a rush to grab this - slow down and enjoy the silence
of the woods. I left some trail maps in the box for your reference.
There is also a disposable camera in the cache - it would
be neat if you could take a pic of yourself or your surroundings.
When film is done, I'll post it on the cache page. Thanks!
Enjoy the trails, look out for the blue heron, listen for the bullfrogs
that inhabit the ponds and welcome to Staten Island.
