Geocache Description:

Tribute To Little Jimmy Dickens

The posted coordinates will lead you to a road sign welcoming you to the little mountain community of Bolt, WV.

It is this community that Country Music Legend Little Jimmy Dickens is from. Mr. Dickens is a longtime member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry, and was among the first class of inductees into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame. He was the first country music performer to completely circle the globe on a worldwide tour in 1964 and he was also the first performer to wear the rhinestone “Nudie” suits on the Grand Ole Opry.

Mr. Dickens is known as “The Littlest, But Biggest Star at the Opry” and is quiet a showman. He has had many hit songs over the years, including “We Could”, "Out Behind the Barn", “Life Turned Her That Way”, "Sleeping at the Foot of the Bed", "(You've Been Quite a Doll) Raggedy Ann", "Take an Old Cold Tater (And Wait)", and his biggest hit “May The Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose”.

By answering the following related questions, you should be able to find the coordinates of the physical cache location, and hopefully learn a little about the history of Country Music:

1. Mr. Dickens was born in what year (19xx)?

2. How tall is he (xft - xxin)?

3. What year was he made a member of the Grand Ole Opry (19xx)?

4. Who was the first living person to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame? (Hint: This person also brought Mr. Dickens to the Opry).

5. What year was the person from Question 4 made a member of the Grand Ole Opry (19xx)?

6. What are the call letters of the radio station that carries the Grand Ole Opry?

7. What is the frequency of this station on the AM dial (kHz)?

8. Who gave Jimmy Dickens the nickname “Tater”?

9. The man from Question 8 had a second wife that later went on to marry another Country Music singer… who was the other singer?
