Over the last several years, we have found ourselves
spending lots of time at various sites around town while our
kids have played soccer. For those of you in similar situations,
this will give you something a little different to do while
waiting for the next game. This site may have its gates locked
at some times, but you should be able to walk through with no
problem. The road through the center is one-way, so be careful
to enter at the right spot. There are certain weekends where you
must pay or have a pass to park onsite. These tournament
weekends are on the CASLNC website. The local police have been
known to vigorously enforce the no parking on street or adjacent
neighborhoods rules during tournaments, so check first (unless
you're a parent or player and have a parking pass).
The container is slightly smaller than the average "regular" sized
cache, so nothing overly large will fit.
This one can be anywere from 1 to 3 stars in difficulty. It depends
on how well the last finder does their job of rehiding. Whenever I
check on it, it will be a 3. Although there are briars in the
vicinity, I did not encounter any on my approach. Summer may bring
more. There is an entrance to the woods about 150 feet west of
where your GPS will point straight into the woods from the
road.
I have also included 10 "collector" cards made for this
cache. Of course, collectible (or not) is up to you!
One of the cards has a slightly different design and is in the
same bag as the log book. This card should be taken by the 1st
person to find this cache. Please only take one card per
geocacher/family.
NOTE : This site provides an excellent opportunity to
Cache In Trash Out. I have left a few signature CITO items to start
the cache. Please use them and pick up some of the cans, bottles,
etc. There are plenty of trash cans nearby to deposit the bags
in.
Thank you for
hunting!
