Jim Hart Memorial
In the desert northwest of Newman Peak is a lonely memorial to 2LT
Jim Hart, who lost his life in an aircraft crash at the site while
training a student pilot. Several plaques at the site describe his
service and sacrifice. This is the most impressive memorial of this
type I have ever seen. I have flown over this memorial many times
at night in an AH-64 Apache, and have given a moment of reflection
over the silent cross that stands there.
The cache is well-stocked and easy to find. Please try to secure it
in its hiding place well. The cache's original contents are:

The cache is a retired military ammunition container.
The cache is on state trust land and easily accessible from the
pipeline road. A two-wheel drive truck can easily make it (ours
did) even if muddy.
