This cache is inspired by Shakespeare's history King Henry
VIII. A synopsis of the play as well as the full text can
be found here. Oddly enough, with such a famous subject
there have been no movie adaptations of the play. Possibly because
the play does not highlight Henry's unique marital relationships for which he is so well
known.
"Heat not a furnace for your
foe so hot That it do singe yourself.". (Act I, Scene
I)
For this cache, you must visit several eight-sided structures in
the Manchester area. At each of these structures, you'll need to
gather some data that will lead you to the cache.
The Structures
I'm really intrigued by these octagonal houses. I don't know
much about their history and you can get bonus points if you can
give me more information. Also, please tell me if you know of any
others.

The first structure is located at Waypoint Q1.
A picture of this house hangs in the Manchester Millyard Museum,
but they had no additional information about it. This is a private
residence, so please respect the owners' privacy. Parking is
allowed on the street in front of the house. If you stand at the
location where the picture was taken, you'll find a serial number -
AB CDE FGH. Let Z = A + H. |

The second structure is located at Waypoint
Q2. Parking is available on the street. Notice that the
attached barn is also octagonal. If you stand at the location where
the picture was taken, you'll find the name of a company -
The X Co..
Let T be the number of E's in the
company's name. (Don't count "The" and "Co.") |
Henry's Town House |

The third structure is located at Waypoint Q3.
Somewhere on the structure, you'll find a plaque with a phone
number - JKL MNO-PQRS. Let W = K +
P. |
Henry's Hunting Lodge |
|
|
|
|
The fourth structure is located at Waypoint
Q4. If you stand where this picture was taken, look behind
you at the house with a porch. Let U be the number
of red stripes on one post holding up the roof of the porch. |

The Cache

5/26/2007 - The cache is now a micro in
the woods. Those of you that know me , know how I feel
about micros-in-the-woods. But, the original cache location is
inaccessible and I got backed into a corner (literally) because of
a nearby cache.
Please Note
The area of the final has access restrictions. The area is open
from 8 AM - 8 PM. Additionally, in the
summer, park usage is restricted to Manchester residents
only until 2:00 PM. After 2:00 PM anyone can use
the park. The final is actually located at the edge of the area and
you would probably not be bothered no matter what time you went
after the final.
