Geocache Description:

This cache complies with urban Geocaching rules. This is a magnetic nano. Suitable for handicachers.

Every year in Stewarton the Bonnet Guild organise the Bonnet Guild Gala Day. The first of these festivals took place in 1933, and was the brainchild of Bailie Tom Barclay, who called in assistance of 27 prominent politicians and businessmen to assist. This group called themselves 'The Bonnet Guild'.

There are a series of events including a five-a-side tournament, a set aside radio station [Bonnet FM] and culminates in the main street festival with all the floats and bunting you could hope for.

The main procession starts in Avenue Square and is led by the 'Corsehill Queen' - a local schoolgirl nominated by her peers. She has an entourage that would not be out of place with J-Lo or Britney, having page boys, maids, a sword bearer and coutiers to name but a few.

This cache takes you to Avenue Square, and no apologies made - this is probably the most public of place in Stewarton without physically sitting the cache on the bar at the Smugglers on a Friday night! Needless to say stealth is of the essence.

Word of note. At the time of setting this cache the GPS said accurate with 40 feet, but the clue will act as a heat seeking missile. Happy hunting!
