Background
Trolls -- fearsome members of a mythical anthropomorphic race
from Scandinavian folklore -- range from fiendish giants similar to
the ogres of English fairy tales to a devious, more human-like folk
of the wilderness, living underground in hills or mounds, inclined
to thieving and the abduction of humans. They could also be known
as hill-folk or mound-folk. In Shetland and Orkney tales, trolls
are called trowe.
Trolls have been adapted by Nordic literature, art, and music in
various manners, often in the form of an aboriginal race, endowed
with oversized ears and noses. From here, as well as from
Scandinavian fairy tales such as Three Billy Goats Gruff,
trolls have achieved international recognition. In modern fantasy
literature and role-playing games, trolls are featured to the
extent of being stock characters. Fantasy trolls, however, have
become highly stereotyped versions of their Scandinavian
predecessors.
Trolls and muggles are related. Take care here. The trolls may
get you and the muggles are always there, so choose your
poison.
Background Of This Cache
On Christmas Day of 2005, Chance Encounter placed
"Trolling For Treasure" (GCRQDZ) and just a few months later
QLaymon placed "Those Darned Trolls!" (GCV739) in the
Memphis area. On 04-04-06 I found my first "by-myself" cache with
my own GPS. It was the latter of the two described above. I never
was able to get the Chance Encounter hide; it came up
missing just too many times.
This cache is a joint tribute to those two hides. This cache is not
located at either of the previous locations, so if you have found
either or both of those caches, you are welcome to grab this one as
well.
The Cache
This is a two stage multi. Stage One will give you information
to locate Stage Two.
