There are now 2 caches on this island. Marc beat me to the punch. This island is state owned. Years ago it was a amusement park, complete with a hotel & restaurant. The foundations are still visible. Access by boat in the summer,& by snowmobile, or crosscountry skiing when the water gets hard. Nice place for a picnic. Visit the lighthouse while you're here. Oneida Lake is known for walleye fishing. Bring a pole if you are so inclined. A dock is on the south side of the island if coming by boat.
Long pants are a good idea due to what I believe are nettles. I placed the cache before they had grown. They will
irritate exposed skin. Be warned.
