Short hike but it is up up up.
Cabwaylingo has always been special with me.

Trout is stocked in the creek that runs through so you may wanna bring yer pole in the spring months.

There are a couple of approaches to the cache you can take. We parked at N37 58.849 W82 21.526. The trail isn't signed until you get up in the woods. It begins right behind cabin number 7. Then yellow blazes, albeit faded, mark the trail.

The trail is steep so bring water. There are nice rock formations on the way up to explore.

A look-out tower is located at N37 58.758 W82 23.388 and is interesting to check out.

There are many playgrounds and picnic areas around so relax and have fun.

Whew! That was quite a steep trail, luckily it's not too long and the day was not too hot. We started this late in the afternoon and debated whether to even go for it, or just head back to the cabin to relax with a cold drink and start the fire for dinner. I'm glad we decided to get it first. It's always satifying to find a cache after working for it a bit, especially when it's one that's not found very often. T - 2 duracell batteries; L - McDonald's toy and a geocaching pin. TFTC!!

Thank you! We had a great hike to find this one. The trail wasnt very well marked at points, but we managed to make our way up. We left 2 golf tees, a mini bobber, a bandage, and a stone dog. We took the eagle pin, monster truck, red balloon, and spiderman hackey sack.

"Yikes" Ike's Hike! You know what I mean! We took the grand tour along the ridges and visited the old Fire Tower. I've wondered where that thing was since Science Camp when I was about 12 years old. We stayed in the group camp near the pool. Good times!

The tower was in pretty bad shape with a lot of steps and railings gone. Even the floor was missing. It was extremely windy so I decided not to make the full climb. ANGRY BEAVER was following me and I backed down for her safety. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE trying this. It was really pretty foolish. The cache was a mile away so we went 4 wheelin' a bit to get near it. Finally we decided to just go back to the posted parking spot at cabin #7. Wise choice. The hike up was great. Lots of cool scenery, even in the dead of Winter. ANGRY BEAVER was getting pretty tired by the time we reached the cache, but as usual, she spied the hide first.

She took the rain poncho and I took a police truck.
We left a dissecant bag to help keep it dry, a red balloon, a kazoo, and a couple of new Duracells for someone's dead GPSr. They've still gotta' find "The Slide"

We also found IKE!

Thanks Cache Potato and Family for a couple of fine caches today.....LETSRACE
