Refreshed on 9/3/17. Just outside of the Highline Canal trail on the path to the Preserve pool and tennis courts. (Mosquitos in the late Summer /Fall). A little overgrown this summer, but Cache On. Per someone's comments, there is NOT a homeless camp there. Some kids built a little fort nearby and they even had their rules posted.
There are some great dirt trails along the highline canal in The Preserve (kid/dog/bike friendly). However, this cache is outside of the highline canal trail, just on the other side of the canal itself. Therefore, if you are on the highline canal and are getting close to the coordinates, don't be fooled into thinking you can get to it. You need to exit the highline canal trail by going over the nearest bridge (<100m away) and onto a paved trail. You won't need to travel very far from there but when you see two cement bridges in a row, it will be time to start looking. If you are starting from the paved trails that lead in from either Holly St or The Preserve, just follow your coordinates and look for the two paved bridges in a row (within 50m of each other). You can park at Castlewood Park and hike about 3/4 of a mile to the cache.
