Pole Position (Micro) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series, much easier than my typical themed caches. Be prepared to spend some time searching the Internet, maybe even a library. Once you found the cache, in the top of the lid is a number -- record it for later use. (There is a penalty for being one of the first few to find this one: the number won't be added until the initial FTF fervor has gone!) This is the only micro in the series. At the coordinates above is a wooden pole with a four-digit number in the format ABCD.

E. Author Piers Anthony shifted from writing with a pencil to typing manuscripts on his computer in the mid-80s while writing a novel that featured a diminutive lead character. What number was the book in the series?

F. The same author gave a leading character in one of the other books of the same "trilogy" a bag of talismans, including a compass and a skull. How many of the small figurines were originally in the bag?

G. Europe's oldest country is also the world's fifth smallest. What is the area of the country in square miles?

H. Wicked Weasel manufacturers the world's smallest bikinis. While they themselves will take your breath away, what are the last two digits of the year in which the Bravo bomb (also a breathtaker) was detonated on the atoll for which they are named?

J. Relatively speaking, the number of pennies minted in San Francisco in 1955 was much fewer than other years. How many millions of the coins were created?

K. Travel bugs are usually small. The "Richard, the Shutterbug" travel bug (TB5049) has what two-digit number written in black ink on its back? Please do not contact Equinox, the travel bug's owner. He does not know the number!

L. Most yellow Jeep travel bugs appear to have a faint, tiny six-digit alphanumeric sequence printed on the bottom in the following pattern: "112 L SR" What is the number in the place of the L?

M. According to volume 19, number 17 of Iowa Farmer Today, for at least how many years has Hoover's Hatchery delivered quality baby chicks?

XXX = Sum of B through L
YYY = A + M + 820
