Geocache Description:

This Cache is located in the Marshall Gold Discovery Park in Coloma Ca.

Paleopal will you marry me?

This cache is a wedding proposal to My Sweetheart Paleopal who I met last year (2007) at the Springtime in Coloma IV event.

First Page of the Log Book

OK here is the story:
My plan was to have Paleopal "win" the FTF rights for an unpublished cache in the raffle with my proposal in the cache.
I worked with Hemlock to pre-approve four new caches in the area one of which was this one. As it turned out the other three caches were fine and were OK but I could see when I got back to the house this cache was too close to another cache. I went back and found another place for the cache. This one looked good to me but no it was too close to the final stage of a seven stage multi-cache. Back to the park again to work out the multi and find another hiding place. This time I had a winner.
The day of the Springtime in Coloma V event cache I had Graniteman (See his log entry below for details of his adventure) go up to the cache and place the FTF prize/Engagement Ring in the cache.
Paleopal did not know that I had donated the FTF pre-approved caches to the raffle. I had made a small mark on one of the film cans that had the coordinates for the FTF caches so I would know which one was for her. I bought six raffle tickets (772045-772050) put the first five in the raffle pot and hung onto the last one. I then gave the tickets to Paleopal. Her FTF cache was the third one that I raffled off. I was all ready to call out 772050 no matter what ticket was drawn but when the ticket was handed to me I had to do a double take. The ticket was 772047!
What can I say she won the FTF cache fair and square!!
After the raffle was over and some more socializing we headed up the hill to find the cache. She found the cache and had me pull it out of it's hiding place. When I opened it she saw a stuffed reindeer she wanted and wanted to look through the cache but I handed her the log book to sign. She wanted to look at the cache but I made her sign the book first with the proposal on the first page. (See the picture)
She had no clue what was coming!
When she opened the log book I could see the realization come over her and I got the ring out of the cache. After she signed the log and checked the Yes box I gave her the ring.
After that there were congratulations, tears, laughs, hugs and lots of smiles.

And now the Wedding event cache
