We’ll meet at 9:00 am to pick up trash for a while, chat for a while, trade trackables for a while and then break up around 10:00 to see what other adventures we can find in the park.
There are 10 caches in George Park one of which includes the “Tree climbing required” attribute and one that has a 5/1.5 D/T with 1 find and 30 DNF’s. Maybe if we get enough eyes looking at the same time someone will spot it and score Souvenir #3 for the Three-fer!
You will pass by two cemeteries that have caches in them on your way to the park – GC54PKR & GCRZ5Y. One of which, Morton Cemetery is worth a visit even if it didn’t have a cache. Jane Long (The Mother of Texas) and Mirabeau B. Lamar (Former President of the Republic of Texas) are both interred here and there’s lots of other interesting history.
Trash bags and water will be provided but you’ll want to bring gloves and bug spray.
