Geocache Description:

Another old homestead along Clay Rd. was just begging for a cache so I obliged it! Using the `Turn back the Clock' feature in Google Earth, you can see this old homestead change greatly from between 1944 and 1978, and as of 1989 it had been moved/destroyed.

Cache is a camo'd, tethered soda tube. Buck for FTF, and bring your own pen.

Parking is easiest in an unfinished neighborhood NE of GZ. I bushwhacked straight in (Why not??!?) but this may be more difficult in the summer months. I didn't see any snakes, but that doesn't mean they aren't there! GZ is *almost* visible from Clay Rd, but there is no parking along there. However, if you leave the woods in that direction to make your walk back easier, you'll find the remnants of an old blue crushed car/truck. Anyone know the make and model on this? While I was back there I found some chunks of slab still there, along with bits of old metal and whatnot. Who knows what a little metal detectoring would uncover? Hopefully you'll enjoy this old homestead.
