Webcam Instructions:
There will be no
walking like Egyptians nor
posing like Gumbys in the rain. In the spirit of the cache and
its location, I advise you to do as the title says: "Get your horns
up!" If you are uncertain what this means, maybe
this picture will help illustrate the proper use of the UT hand
sign.
The web cam for this cache is an Axis 2100 network
camera with MJPEG streaming enabled. Located on the camera page
will be a "snapshot" button; this button will allow remote users to
capture frames from the video stream. Like any web cam cache, you
will need a friend in front of a computer on the web when
completing this cache. Have your friend capture a frame with you
getting your horns up. This image will be used to validate your
logging of this web cam cache.
NB: The remote friend should have the Java Runtime Environment installed on
their computer; ActiveX just won't cut it.
To access the web cam page, go to this webpage to
validate your coordinates. If your coordinates are accurate, the
webpage will provide a link to the web cam stream. Should your
coordinates be incorrect, you will be notified.
But I'm Not A Longhorn!
We are willing to make a special concession to graduates of
other fine universities. Aggies from Texas A&M University are urged to
flash
their sign. Red Raiders from Texas Tech University are advised to
follow suit in their own
special way. University alums... show your school pride! When
you log this cache as found, include a bit of information (alma
mater, year of graduation, etc.)
