Secret recording transcript - A law office somewhere in Manhattan - Sunday, January 6th, 2013. 2:25 am
League Commissioner: Did you hear? WildFansKRG is annoyed with us for the lockout lasting so long. I just found out they hid a cache called "Delay of Game" complaining about the prospect of no pro hockey this year.
Players Union Representative: Oh no! We can't have WildFansKRG upset with us. We must agree on a contract right now!
Commissioner: Let's split the difference on everything and be done with this.
P.U. Rep: I accept.
Both: LET'S PLAY HOCKEY!
Even though they did finally agree on a contract, we still feel justified assessing both sides of the lockout a Game Misconduct penalty. And to add a little flavor, since you get ejected from the game for a Game Misconduct penalty, this cache is not next to an ice rink like the rest of the hockey penalty series. This one is across the street from an office building housing lawyer's offices. Seemed appropriate considering half the season was spent in law offices instead of on the ice.
