How Geocaching Works
This cache is located just outside of Kinnick Stadium, on campus at the University of Iowa. Kinnick Stadium is the home of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team. The stadium was renovated prior to the 2006 football season. Kinnick Stadium holds over 70,000 people, and is consistently sold out for football games.
This is a tiny cache and here is only room for a tiny log sheet. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE ON FOOTBALL GAME DAYS! On these few days of the year, there will be over 70,000 people in a small area, and this cache will be next to impossible.
Parking is limited in the area. If it is after 4:30, or on a weekend, you will be able to park right up next to the stadium. Otherwise, you will probably need to park in a nearby parking ramp at the hospital. Just read the signs telling you where you can and can't park, and you'll be fine.
While at Kinnick, be sure to walk around the stadium and enjoy the new renovations. Notice the giant statue located in front of the main enterance to the stadium. This statue is of Nile Kinnick, Iowa's only Heisman Trophy winner. Before every game, the entire Hawkeye football team touches the helmet next to the statue before entering the stadium.
Enjoy your time at the University of Iowa. Have fun while you're here. There are many things to do in and around the University.
